Walter Koenig - Chekov - Star Trek

Walter Koenig Walter Koenig is an American actor and writer best known for portraying Ensign Pavel Chekov in the original Star Trek television series and several subsequent Star Trek films. He was born on September 14, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois. Koenig joined Star Trek during its second season in 1967. His character, a young Russian navigator aboard the USS Enterprise, became one of the series’ most recognizable crew members. He later reprised Chekov in numerous Star Trek feature films, including Star Trek: The Motion Picture, The Wrath of Khan, The Search for Spock, and The Voyage Home. Outside Star Trek, Koenig had a notable recurring role as the villainous Alfred Bester on the science-fiction television series Babylon 5. He has also worked as a screenwriter, author, and acting instructor. Koenig has appeared at science-fiction conventions for decades and remains closely associated with the Star Trek franchise. In recognition of his contributions to the series, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012.
