John Sebastian - Lovin' Spoonful

John Sebastian (born March 17, 1944) is an American singer, songwriter and musician best known as the founder and lead singer of the Lovin’ Spoonful. He wrote or co-wrote many of the group’s hits, including “Do You Believe in Magic,” “Daydream,” “Summer in the City” and “You Didn’t Have to Be So Nice.” Sebastian later pursued a solo career and recorded “Welcome Back,” the theme song for the television series Welcome Back, Kotter.
