Steve Allen

(Deceased) Steve Allen (born December 26, 1921 – died October 30, 2000) was an American television personality, comedian, musician, composer, actor, and writer who helped pioneer late-night television. He was the original host of NBC’s The Tonight Show and later hosted The Steve Allen Show, I’ve Got a Secret, and numerous other television programs. Known for his quick wit, improvisational comedy, and musical talent, Allen also wrote dozens of books and composed thousands of songs during his long career.
