Ruth Buzzi

(Deceased) Ruth Buzzi (born July 24, 1936 – died May 1, 2025) was an American actress and comedian best known as a regular performer on the television comedy-variety series Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In. Her most famous character was Gladys Ormphby, a dour, hairnet-wearing woman who frequently struck unwanted admirers with her handbag. Buzzi also appeared on Sesame Street, That Girl, The Carol Burnett Show, and numerous other television programs, films, and animated productions. Her work on Laugh-In earned her a Golden Globe Award and several Emmy Award nominations.
