Cheryl Tiegs

Cheryl Tiegs is an American model and television personality who became one of the most recognizable fashion and swimsuit models of the 1970s and 1980s. She appeared on numerous magazine covers, including Sports Illustrated, and helped define the era’s image of the American supermodel. Often called America’s first supermodel, Tiegs appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue nine times, including three cover appearances in 1970, 1975, and 1983 — a first for any model — and was later inducted into the magazine’s Swimsuit Hall of Fame. Her 1978 “Pink Bikini” poster became one of the decade’s defining images, and she graced the cover of Time magazine four times, including a 1978 story that dubbed her the “All-American Model.”
