Three Dog Night - One Man Band

Three Dog Night was an American rock band that became one of the most successful groups of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Formed in Los Angeles in 1967, the group was known for its three lead vocalists—Danny Hutton, Chuck Negron, and Cory Wells—whose contrasting voices gave the band a distinctive and versatile sound. Rather than relying mainly on songs written by band members, Three Dog Night became famous for recording material by talented songwriters who were not yet widely known. Their hits included songs written by Randy Newman, Harry Nilsson, Laura Nyro, Paul Williams, Hoyt Axton, and others. The group scored numerous major hits, including "One," "Easy to Be Hard," "Eli's Coming," "Mama Told Me (Not to Come)," "Joy to the World," "Black and White," "An Old Fashioned Love Song," "Never Been to Spain," and "Shambala." "Joy to the World," featuring the memorable opening line about Jeremiah the bullfrog, became one of the biggest singles of 1971. Three Dog Night achieved remarkable chart success, placing more than 20 songs in the Billboard Top 40 between 1969 and 1975. Their music blended rock, pop, soul, and rhythm and blues, helping them appeal to a broad audience. Although the original lineup eventually broke apart, various versions of Three Dog Night continued touring in later decades. The band's large collection of hit singles remains a familiar part of classic rock and oldies radio.
