Robin Williams (Deceased) (1951–2014) was an American actor and comedian celebrated for his rapid-fire improvisation, energetic humor, and remarkable dramatic range. He first gained national attention playing the eccentric alien Mork on the television series "Mork & Mindy," a role that made him one of the most popular comedy stars of the late 1970s. Williams went on to build an extraordinary film career. His best-known movies include "Good Morning, Vietnam," "Dead Poets Society," "Awakenings," "The Fisher King," "Mrs. Doubtfire," "Jumanji," "The Birdcage," and "Patch Adams." He also provided the unforgettable voice of the Genie in Disney's animated classic "Aladdin." Although famous for comedy, Williams earned widespread praise for serious dramatic performances. He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of psychologist Sean Maguire in "Good Will Hunting" and received additional Oscar nominations for "Good Morning, Vietnam," "Dead Poets Society," and "The Fisher King."
