Joan Collins - Dynasty

Joan Collins (born May 23, 1933) is an English actress, author, and producer whose career has spanned more than seven decades. She began acting professionally as a teenager and became a contract player for 20th Century Fox during the 1950s. Her early film credits include "The Girl in the Red Velvet Swing," "Land of the Pharaohs," "The Virgin Queen," and "The Wayward Bus." Collins appeared in numerous films and television programs throughout the 1960s and 1970s, including memorable guest roles on such series as "Star Trek," in the acclaimed episode "The City on the Edge of Forever." She also starred in the films "The Stud" and "The Bitch," which helped revive her screen career in the late 1970s. Her most famous role came in 1981 when she joined the hit television drama "Dynasty" as the glamorous and scheming Alexis Carrington Colby. The character became one of television's most recognizable villains and earned Collins international fame, a Golden Globe Award, and multiple Emmy nominations. In addition to acting, Collins has written novels, memoirs, and books about beauty and lifestyle. She was made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2015 for her services to charity.
