(Deceased) Frank Sinatra (December 12, 1915–May 14, 1998) was an American singer and actor celebrated for his distinctive voice, sophisticated phrasing, and interpretations of popular standards. After performing with the Harry James and Tommy Dorsey orchestras, he became one of the twentieth century’s most successful solo entertainers. His best-known recordings include “My Way,” “New York, New York,” “Fly Me to the Moon,” and “Strangers in the Night.” Sinatra also won an Academy Award for his performance in From Here to Eternity.
