(Deceased) Lester Lanin (August 26, 1907–October 27, 2004) was an American bandleader known for providing elegant, continuous dance music at high-society parties, debutante balls, presidential inaugurations, and other prestigious events. His orchestra performed polished medleys of popular standards designed to keep guests dancing, earning Lanin a reputation as one of America’s foremost society bandleaders.
