Mary Ann Mobley

Mary Ann Mobley (Deceased) Mary Ann Mobley was an American actress, television personality, and beauty queen who became Miss America in 1959. She was born on February 17, 1937, in Brandon, Mississippi. After winning the Miss America title, Mobley pursued a career in entertainment and appeared in numerous films and television programs. Her movie credits included Get Yourself a College Girl, Girl Happy, and Harum Scarum, the latter two starring Elvis Presley. Mobley became a familiar face on television through guest appearances on programs such as Perry Mason, Mission: Impossible, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Diff’rent Strokes, and Falcon Crest. She also appeared frequently on game shows and variety programs. She was married to actor and television host Gary Collins from 1967 until his death in 2012. The couple often appeared together professionally and were active in charitable causes. Mobley was especially involved in humanitarian work and received recognition for her efforts on behalf of children and health-related organizations. Mary Ann Mobley died on December 9, 2014, at age 77, from breast cancer.
