Beverly Garland (Deceased) Beverly Garland was an American actress whose career spanned more than five decades in film and television. She was born on October 17, 1926, in Santa Cruz, California. Garland became especially known during the 1950s for appearing in crime dramas, westerns, and low-budget science-fiction films. Her movie credits included It Conquered the World, Not of This Earth, The Alligator People, and Gunslinger. She later became a familiar television actress. One of her best-known roles was Barbara Harper Douglas on the long-running family comedy My Three Sons, which she joined in 1969. She also starred in the police series Decoy, one of the first American television dramas to feature a female police officer as its central character. Garland made numerous guest appearances on programs such as Perry Mason, The Twilight Zone, Gunsmoke, The Fugitive, and Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. In addition to acting, she was involved in the operation of the Beverly Garland Holiday Inn in North Hollywood. Beverly Garland died on December 5, 2008, at age 82.
