Teri Garr - Young Frankenstein

Teri Garr (Deceased) Teri Garr was an American actress and comedian known for her distinctive comic timing and memorable roles in film and television. She was born on December 11, 1944, in Lakewood, Ohio. Garr began her career as a dancer and appeared in several films and television programs during the 1960s before gaining wider recognition as an actress. One of her most famous roles was Inga in Mel Brooks’ 1974 comedy Young Frankenstein. She also appeared in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Conversation, Mr. Mom, After Hours, and One from the Heart. In 1982, Garr received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Sandy Lester in Tootsie. On television, she made numerous guest appearances and was a frequent and popular guest on late-night talk shows, especially The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and Late Night with David Letterman. Later in life, Garr publicly discussed her diagnosis with multiple sclerosis and became an advocate for greater awareness of the disease. Teri Garr died on October 29, 2024, at age 79.
