Mark Harmon - NCIS

Mark Harmon (born September 2, 1951) is an American actor and former college football player best known for his long-running role as Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs on the television series NCIS. Born in Burbank, California, Harmon is the son of football star and broadcaster Tom Harmon and actress Elyse Knox. He played quarterback at UCLA before pursuing an acting career. Harmon began appearing regularly on television during the 1970s and gained wider recognition through roles on shows such as St. Elsewhere, where he played Dr. Robert Caldwell. He also appeared in numerous television movies and feature films, including Summer School (1987), The Presidio (1988), and Wyatt Earp (1994). In 2003, Harmon began portraying Gibbs on NCIS, a role that became the defining part of his career. He remained a central cast member for nearly two decades and also served as an executive producer. Harmon has received multiple award nominations and is regarded as one of the most durable and recognizable leading actors in American television.
