Carl Perkins

(Deceased) Carl Perkins (April 9, 1932–January 19, 1998) was an American singer, songwriter and guitarist who became one of the pioneers of rockabilly music. He is best known for writing and recording “Blue Suede Shoes,” which became a major hit and was later covered by Elvis Presley. Perkins also wrote songs recorded by artists including Johnny Cash, the Beatles and Patsy Cline. Perkins was a favorite of Beatles, Ringo Starr. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
