(Deceased) Jerry Clower (September 28, 1926 – August 24, 1998) was an American comedian and storyteller known for his humorous tales about rural Southern life. Nicknamed “The Mouth of Mississippi,” he became popular through comedy recordings featuring the fictional Ledbetter family and their colorful adventures. Clower joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1973 and remained one of country entertainment’s most beloved comedians until his death.
