(Deceased) Johnny Vander Meer (November 2, 1914 – October 6, 1997) was an American Major League Baseball pitcher best known for throwing two consecutive no-hitters for the Cincinnati Reds in June 1938—a feat never duplicated in major-league history. Nicknamed “The Dutch Master,” he was a four-time All-Star, helped the Reds win the 1940 World Series, and was inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame.
