(Deceased) James “Jimmy” Stewart (May 20, 1908 – July 2, 1997) was an American actor known for his distinctive voice, natural screen presence, and portrayals of honest, everyday heroes. His classic films include Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, The Philadelphia Story, It’s a Wonderful Life, Rear Window, Vertigo, and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. Stewart also served as a decorated U.S. Army Air Forces pilot during World War II and became one of Hollywood’s most respected and beloved stars.
