Pat Schroeder

(Deceased) Pat Schroeder (born July 30, 1940 – died March 13, 2023) was an American politician and attorney who represented Colorado in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1973 to 1997. A leading advocate for women’s rights, family leave, and military reform, she was the first woman to serve on the House Armed Services Committee. Schroeder also helped advance the Family and Medical Leave Act and briefly explored a campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1987.
