Sunny Tufts

(Deceased) Sonny Tufts (July 16, 1911–June 4, 1970) was an American actor and singer who became a prominent Hollywood leading man during the 1940s. A Yale graduate and former opera singer, he appeared in films including So Proudly We Hail!, Here Come the Waves, The Virginian, Cat-Women of the Moon, and The Seven Year Itch. His career later declined amid heavy drinking, arrests for public intoxication, and damaging tabloid scandals. Two women separately accused him of biting them on the thigh, although one later dropped her lawsuit. These incidents turned Tufts from a popular screen star into a frequent target of jokes about faded Hollywood celebrities.
