(Deceased) Sidney Sheldon (February 11, 1917 – January 30, 2007) was an American novelist, screenwriter, playwright and television producer. He began his career writing for Broadway and Hollywood, winning an Academy Award for the screenplay of The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer. Sheldon later created and produced popular television series including The Patty Duke Show, I Dream of Jeannie and Hart to Hart. As a novelist, he became internationally famous for bestselling suspense stories such as The Other Side of Midnight, Master of the Game, If Tomorrow Comes and The Sands of Time.
