James Mercer - The Shins

(Deceased) Phil Everly (January 19, 1939 – January 3, 2014) was an American singer and musician best known as one half of the influential duo the Everly Brothers, alongside his older brother Don. Renowned for their close vocal harmonies, the brothers recorded such classics as “Bye Bye Love,” “Wake Up Little Susie,” “All I Have to Do Is Dream,” and “Cathy’s Clown.” Their sound had a major influence on later artists including the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, and the Beach Boys. Phil Everly continued performing and recording for many years and was inducted with his brother into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.
