Kevin Costner

Born January 18, 1955. Kevin Costner is an American actor, director and producer known for many of Hollywood’s most popular dramas, Westerns and sports films. He rose to prominence during the 1980s with memorable roles in *The Untouchables*, *Bull Durham* and *Field of Dreams*. Costner achieved his greatest critical success with *Dances with Wolves*, which he starred in, directed and produced. The film won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director for Costner. His other notable films include *JFK*, *Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves*, *The Bodyguard*, *A Perfect World*, *Wyatt Earp*, *Waterworld*, *Tin Cup* and *For Love of the Game*. Costner later earned acclaim for portraying Devil Anse Hatfield in the television miniseries *Hatfields & McCoys*, winning a Primetime Emmy Award. He also introduced himself to a new generation of viewers as ranch owner John Dutton in the hit television series *Yellowstone*. Known for portraying determined, independent and often heroic characters, Costner has remained a prominent figure in American film and television for more than four decades.
