Warren Beatty

Warren Beatty is an American actor, director, producer, and screenwriter known for a career spanning more than six decades. His notable films include Bonnie and Clyde, Shampoo, Heaven Can Wait, Reds, and Dick Tracy. He has received numerous honors for his work both in front of and behind the camera. Beatty holds a rare distinction in Academy Award history: he is the only person ever nominated for acting, directing, writing, and producing the same film in two different years, first for Heaven Can Wait (1978) and again for Reds (1981), for which he won the Oscar for Best Director. Across his career he has earned fourteen Academy Award nominations in total, and in 1999 the Academy honored him with the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award for his body of work as a producer.
